SNMP and MRTG configuration

1. the first step install apache2 and php5
        root@router:~#apt-get install apache2 php5

2. Seconds step install SNMP and SNMPD
        root@router:~#apt-get install snmp snmpd

3. The third step, the configuration file snmpd.conf
        root@router:~#nano /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf

4. The Fourth step, Change the configuration in this section
         #sec.name   source   community
          com2sec paranoid default public
         #com2sec readonly default public
         #com2sec readwrite default public

    to be
       #sec.name   source   community
       #com2sec paranoid default public
       #(These standards cover the entire traffic fine if you have more than 1 lan card)      
       com2sec readonly default public 
       #com2sec readwrite default public

5. A fifth step, change in this section also
       syslocation Unknown (configure /etc/snmp/snmpd.local.conf)
       syslcontact Root <root@localhost> (configure /etc/snmp/snmpd.local.conf)
     
    to be (this is example)
       syslocation Pasca-upnjatim
       syscontact Admin admin@Router.net


6. The sixth step, restart and run snmpwalk SNMP
       root@router:~#/etc/init.d/snmpd restart
       root@router:~#snmpwalk -v1 -c public localhost system
         
              successful if it came out like the picture below

       
7. The seventh step, Install mrtg and generate to be .html in web server
        root@router:~#apt-get install mrtg
    if the installation is complete then proceed to make the index of network traffic with MRTG
        root@router:~#cfgmaker public@localhost > /etc/mrtg.cfg
   and make index.html for networking with
          root@router:~#indexmaker /etc/mrtg.cfg > /var/www/mrtg/index.html

8.the last step, open your browser and type this url> 
          http:// (ip location of the installation of MRTG) / mrtg /

9. wait about five minutes, if your installation is successful it will come out like this picture.
